All students eventually enter the workforce. Having said this, there are many pathways that lead to that ultimate destination. Students may create or choose a secondary school program pathway that prepares them for direct entry to:
- apprenticeship programs;
- college of applied arts and technology programs;
- university programs;
- the workplace.
Students planning on going to university know which courses they need to take before they enter Grade 9 and each year after that. Students planning on entering the workplace, apprenticeship or college may not know the pathway to take in terms of courses. When a student knows what they need, they are much more engaged in their education because they have a plan. These students need to know the pathway so they have a Roadmap to their post secondary destination.
