Standing Committee on Industry, Science and Technology

Pursuant to the motion adopted by the Standing Committee on Industry, Science and Technology on March 3, 2009, a Subcommittee on Automotive Industry in Canada has studied the crisis faced by the automotive industry in Canada. The Standing Committee report was tabled in the House of Commons on March 31, 2009.

Canadian Apprenticeship Forum

The Canadian Apprenticeship Forum – Forum canadien sur l’apprentissage (CAF-FCA) conducted a landmark study that examined the Return on Apprenticeship Training Investment. Previous studies in this area focused only on cost and shied away from the question of benefits. The CAF-FCA’s study confirms that benefits generated by apprentices outweigh the training costs.

That’s what apprenticeship is all about. Hiring apprentices makes good business sense. Did you know that apprenticeship training improves companies’ bottom line. For every $1 spent on apprenticeship training, an employer receives a benefit of $1.38. Learn more about the business case for apprenticeship.
